The Intensive Summer Japanese-Language Course for Teen Agers
Outline and characteristics
This is the course for a small group of students which offers intensive learning of Japanese conversation.
Details of the courses
Terms July 20 ( Fri. ) to August 9 ( Thu.) 2012.
Total hours 54 hours
Class hours ( days of the week, hours ) Monday, Wednesday to Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Tuesday: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Course Materials Original YWCA course materials
Others There is no class in the afternoon of the last day of the term ( Thursday, August 9 ) due to the course completion ceremony and a party giving.
Guidelines for applicants
Regular number of students 10 students par class(The list will be closed as soon as the full number is reached. )
Application requirements and object persons * Non-native men and women of Japanese aged approximately 14-17.
* From youths without Japanese language learning experience to those without confidence in Japanese conversation.
( irrespective of whether or not the applicant is attending junior or senior high schools of Japan )
Application procedures * Submit the application form ( with a photo attached ) by July 6 ( Fri. ).
* Consult us in case where you need an application form for admission.
* Students who hope to stay with a Japanese family need to contact us and submit a prescribed form of application by June 29 (Fri.).

Process to entrance into school and opening of the course
1. Application for the level check test, submission of the application form for admission
2. Level check test. ( Consult us for the schedule. )
3. Delivery of the entrance fee and the enrollment fee.
4. Opening of the course
Schedule of the placement test As needed ( consult the schedule when applying for admission )
Study expenses, etc.
Entrance fee, Tuition fee. Entrance fee : 10,500yen, Tuition fee : 64,000yen
How to deliver fees To be paid at the reception desk of our school or by bank transfer, etc.
The term of delivery Deliver the entrance fee, the tuition fee, etc. by July 13 ( Fri. ).
Expenses for course materials 3,000yen
Others * Once the tuition and other fees are delivered, they cannot be refunded except when the course cannot be opened.
* But in case you inform us your cancelation by the day before class start, we will refund tuition fee.
* The expenses include consumption taxes.
Optional Program
・ Schedule:Tuesday 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

・ Contents(Plan): experience of art of calligraphy / viewing of Bunraku puppet show / social studies field trip to a disaster control center / experience of wearing a yukata or a light cotton kimono for summer / Making and eating "okonomiyaki", typical taste of Osaka!etc.

Homestay Program
(1)Application requirement
1.Understand and be able to agree with the purpose of the homestay program.
2.Must be enrolled in the Osaka YWCA Japanese Language Course.
3.Must have accident insurance.

By June 29

(3)Duration of homestay
Up to 3 months

(4)Cost
・Homestay application fee: 12,000yen
・Homestay fee: per week 15,000yen, per day 2,200yen
*Including breakfast and dinner.
*The applicants is responsible for transportation fees to and from school, lunch, telephone, medical and personal expenses by the applicant him/herself.

(5)Others
There is a limit of number. Once the number of people is fulled, we may close the application.

Other pieces of information
* Those participants from the first day who have attended more than two thirds of the course will be given a course completion certificate.

* With a high level Japanese language aptitude, students can join the course for those over the age of 18 which is given simultaneously.
